3 Types of Glass Art:
- Hot Glass- This is created by heasting
glass to 2000 degrees or hotter. The glass is a molten product that is gatheres
from a furance onto a long stick where you can make sculptures, vases, and other items.
Some of the techniques involved in this method:
- Glass Blowing & Glass Casting
- Warm Glass- This is created by heating glass to a tempature between
1200 - 1600 degrees in a kiln. Also known as kiln formed glass. Plates, tiles, and
sheets are items created with warm glass.
Some of the techniques involved in this method:
- Slumping & Fusing
- Cold Glass- This method dose not require glass to be
heated. Glass can be cut, engraved, foiled, and grinded. The glass is soldered together to
hold the pieces in place.
